Ok. Let’s get a couple things out of the way first. I’m 42. Last night, I had roughly 5 hours of very interrupted sleep. I have to take this tired face with me everywhere I go. Thank goodness for make-up.
For my everyday face — my bright-light-facing, every-angle-exposed, multi-expressioned face (rather than my dark-restaurant, preferred-lighting and single-angle face) — I need reliable and lightweight cosmetics that won’t look make me look made-up or, worse, need touching up. Oh, and it must be vegan and cruelty-free.
My daily routine is easy with three steps, and it’s perfect for me. Perhaps you’ll love it too.
For my face, I spread on the light OCC Tint — tinted moisturizer, by Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics. It’s bright, and it evens out my ruddy skin without the thick feeling that some foundations can leave. Then I touch on a very little bit of their Stained Gloss to my lips under vaseline (for shine). Then I finish up with Gabriel Cosmetics mascara — which I find at Whole Foods for around $16 — It’s glossy, slick, water resistant, and it doesn’t flake.
So here comes the part where I show you my morning face pre-make-up, mid-make-up, post-make-up. Try not to stress about my after shower hair. I handled it later. And also, the fact that I’m wearing a hoodie (which I noticed just a few minutes ago, along with the unfortunate stain at the hood seam. sigh.) should be proof that this is a very poorly thought out, therefore, not overly planned shoot. To which the awkward camera angle may also attest — but you may notice that I unconciously correct the angle as my confidence increases with make-up.
I’m just showing the skin, y’all. Just focus on the face.
Not bad for 5 or fewer hours of sleep, and no time to spare for a real makeover.
